Hamilton Field seeding is an area of slight relief, varying from 4150 to 4250
feet in elevation. The area is bound on the north by the East Square Butte
seeding and on the south by Diamond Craters; a steep unnamed butte borders
the area on the southeast. The Hamilton Field seeding covers 1,360 acres or
544 hectares. As with East Square Butte seeding, the nearest dependable
water source is the Donner und Blitzen River about eight kilometers to the
west. The dominant vegetation is sagebrush. The seeding was surveyed by
Loring, Toussaint, Kilmax and Parker on August 28, 29 and 30, 1980. No
cultural resources were noted in the area.
