Irish Text SearchWith TEXT SEARCH you can find all occurances of any text (usually you would choose to search for a surname, but you might want to look for a placename, occupation, or other text) in our off-line text databases. These consist of all of the text files (or pages) you can order on DIGdat, plus text transcriptions of those scanned pages that are available. (Only a small portion of the scanned pages have been transcribed so far, that is an on-going process.) The search is literal and non case-sensitive -- that means a search for Murphy will find MURPHY, Ballymurphy, MacMurphy, etc., but NOT Murfee, Murphey, or Morphy. Results give the name of the file containing the reference (linked to the order page) and the full line of text containing the reference. See a sample, actual search results for the surname SMITH. All search results are kept available to paid subscribers for several months -- after which they are removed because new additions to the text files make them obsolete, so a new search is needed. If you are not a paid subscriber and order a text search, the results will also be emailed to you. TO ORDER A TEXT SEARCH USING PAYPAL $7.95:
