The Chronicle of Ireland
By Hanmer and Marleburrough
This ancient work, written in 1571 and published 1809, is marked The Second Part
-- but as the chronological narration begins 300 years after The Flood, we must assume any
preceding part covered Biblical times, and would have only mythological connections with
the history of Ireland. The bulk of this work was by Meredith Hanmer, and covers the period
from three centuries after The Flood to the year 1284. From 1285 to 1421 is covered by Henry
Marleburrough, and there this narrative ends.
