THE FLOURNOY GENEALOGY. By Flournoy Rivers. Originally published in
The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, 1895 -- 1897. 76
pages. With an added full name index by Andrew J. Morris.
This work includes descendants of Laurent Flournoy, a French
Huguenot who fled to Geneva, but primarily the American branch
descendant from Jean Jacques (or John James) Flournoy, born 1686,
married Elizabeth Williams 1720 in Virginia; and died in 1740. John
and Elizabeth had ten children whose descendants are traced in this
work. The main allied families are Adams, Andrews, Bell, Blackburn,
Booker, Burbridge, Calhoun, Dallam, Darby, Davis, Feild, Harris,
Henry, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Martin, Maxey, Montgomery, Norton,
O'Bear, Rivers, Roberts, Slaughter, Smith, Spencer, Underwood,
Vandeventer, Wells, Wilson and Yancey. An every name index of about
1670 entries, including approximately 60 slaves (for whom no last
names are given), makes this publication particularly easy to use.
This index was specially prepared for this microfiche reprint.
