THE MORRIS JOURNAL, ISSUE #1. By Andrew J. Morris. 58 pages,
indexed. Originally published Dec. 1985, Fort Collins CO.
The Morris Journal was a quarterly publication devoted to
information on Morris families from around the world. It began
publication in December 1985, and ceased in September 1988. Each of
the 12 issues published have been placed on microfiche. Some of the
information found in this issue includes Morris listings from the
1879/80 and the 1879/82 city directories for Los Angeles;
descendants of Edward Morris who emigrated from Essex, England to
Roxbury, Massachusetts in the mid 1600's; baptisms and marriages
from Bekan Parish, County Mayo, Ireland 1832 to 1860; Hardin County
Tennessee tombstone inscriptions; biographical sketches; family
group sheets, and more. Most valuable is a complete index, which
lists not only the full name for persons mentioned, but includes an
event, date and locality for each, so that one may quickly
determine which listings may be of interest. So, for example,
there are 58 listings for "John Morris" -- a typical entry reads
"John Morris, b. in 1826 Ootacamund, India," then gives the page
number for that person. This publication is a useful research tool
for anyone with Morris family relations.
