HISTORY OF KILSARAN UNION OF PARISHES IN THE COUNTY OF LOUTH. By Rev. James B. Leslie. 350 pages. Originally published at Dundalk, 1908.

This Irish parish history is full of genealogical detail, with names derived from numerous manuscript sources. A large part of central Louth is encompassed by this work, as is indicated by the sub--title, which describes this history as "Being a History of the Parishes of Kilsaran, Gernonstown, Stabannon, Manfieldstown and Dromiskin; With many particulars relating to the parishes of Richardstown, Dromin and Darver; comprising a large section of Mid- -Louth." Of particular interest to genealogists will be the lists of names derived from Patent Rolls, Hearth Money Rolls, Poll Tax Returns, Clergy Succession lists, Parish Register transcripts and Tombstone Inscriptions. There are also numerous maps and extensive historical detail. Everyone with ancestors from this area will want to take a close look at this publication.
