This Irish parish history is full of genealogical detail, with
names derived from numerous manuscript sources. A large part of
central Louth is encompassed by this work, as is indicated by the
sub--title, which describes this history as "Being a History of the
Parishes of Kilsaran, Gernonstown, Stabannon, Manfieldstown and
Dromiskin; With many particulars relating to the parishes of
Richardstown, Dromin and Darver; comprising a large section of Mid-
-Louth." Of particular interest to genealogists will be the lists
of names derived from Patent Rolls, Hearth Money Rolls, Poll Tax
Returns, Clergy Succession lists, Parish Register transcripts and
Tombstone Inscriptions. There are also numerous maps and extensive
historical detail. Everyone with ancestors from this area will want
to take a close look at this publication.
