KILMALEY PARISH, COUNTY CLARE, IRELAND: RESIDENTS 1826 & 1855. By
Andrew J. Morris. 38 pages, indexed. Published in 1987.
This work consists of the names, townland of residence, size and
value of land holdings, for residents in the civil parish of
Kilmaley, County Clare, Ireland. The information was transcribed
from the 1826 Tithe Applotment Book, and Griffith's Primary
Valuation of 1855. Like most Irish census records, those for this
parish prior to 1901 were destroyed, so the two sources extracted
here are generally used as substitutes. They are similar to "head
of household" censuses, in that they record only the lessor (or
owner) of the property. A complete surname index lists
approximately 250 surnames, with the most prominent being: Burke,
Cahill, Carmody, Connellan, Curtin, Frawley, Griffey, Hehir, Hogan,
Keane, Kearney, Kelly, Kennedy, Lynch, McGuane, McMahon, MacNamara,
Markham, Meehan, Murphy, Neylon, Pyne, and Sullivan.
