The same author had published two other works, (also available on microfiche) tracing ancestors and descendants of Stephen Harris (1798 -- 1851) and his wife Marianne Smith (1805 -- 1890), when he undertook this volume to cover some of his more distant relations. In this work, the descendants of allied lines are traced, beginning with some of the earliest ancestors of the above named couple. In each case, only the descendants of the same surname are traced -- female lines are dropped when they married into other families.

Twelve lines are covered here, beginning with the descendants of John Campbell and Mary Hubbard, married in 1748. There follow similar sections on descendants of Thomas Hubbard and his wife Sidney who were m. ca. 1712; Persifor Frazer and Margaret Carlton m. ca. 1700; John Vaughan and Emma Parry m. in 1720; John Taylor and Hannah Osborn m. 1664; Llewellyn Parry and Mary Thomas m. ca. 1700; Robert Smith and Mary Douglas m. ca. 1712; John Worrall and Elizabeth m. ca. 1657; John Worrilow and Alice m. ca. 1632; John Goodwin and Sarah Kitchin m. ca. 1680; Philip Roman and Martha Harper m. ca. 1669; and George Maris and Alice m. ca. 1659. For a number of these there were also other marriages, and or siblings, whose lines are included.
