HISTORY OF THE DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM KENNEDY AND HIS WIFE MARY OR
MARIAN HENDERSON, FROM 1730 TO 1880. By Elias Davidson Kennedy. 86
pages, originally published at Philadelphia in 1881. Reproduced on
one microfiche 1988.
There were two Kennedy clans in ancient times, one of Irish origins
and one native to Scotland. Many of the Scottish Kennedy's
emigrated to the north of Ireland, and it is the descendants of one
of these lines that is covered in this book. William Kennedy was
born in Londonderry in 1695 and emigrated to Bucks County PA about
1730 with his brother Robert. The first couple of generations of
descendants of Robert Kennedy are also listed in this book, though
the bulk of it is devoted to William's descendants. Descendants are
listed in tabular form, with the names, birth, death, and marriage
information listed for each. Following the charts there is a brief
discussion of the history of the Kennedy clan, and biographical
notes on the more prominent individuals in the family.
