Warner Mifflin was a leading proponent for the emancipation of
slaves, freeing his own slaves in 1775. This publication traces
back his ancestry to John Mifflin who was born in 1638 in
Wiltshire, England and came to America before 1680 and settled in
Delaware. Some of the allied surnames include: Dickinson, Eyre,
Foulke, Gay, Hunn, Neall, Nock, Powell, Rasin, Thorn, Willcox and
Wilson.
