THE DUBLIN DIRECTORY FOR 1838 CONTAINING A GENERAL ALPHABETICAL
LIST OF THE PRINCIPAL INHABITANTS OF THE CITY AND SUBURBS.
Published by Pettigrew and Oulton, 1839, Dublin Ireland. 284 pages.
This microfiche reproduction of an early Dublin Street Directory
includes the genealogically relevant portions from the original
directory, primarily the alphabetical listing of names of
residents. Also included here is a list of streets, giving the name
of the parish each street was located in. Another section of this
reprint lists residents and commercial enterprises by street.
Certain sections of the original directory were intentionally
omitted from this reprint, as they tended to repeat information
available from the alphabetical listings, or had information of
little relevance to genealogists, or easily available elsewhere. An
estimated 12,000 names are listed in this directory, and for each
the street address and occupation are shown.
