THE CHRONICLE OF IRELAND Collected by Meredith Hanmer in the year 1571. Reprinted by Hibernia Press in 1809. 410 pages. Together with: THE CHRONICLE OF IRELAND Continued by Henry Marleburrough in the year 1571. 32 pages. Reproduced in 2002 on Virtual Book ePublication CD #7 - EIREphile

Hanmer's Chronicle of Ireland is a rare compilation of ancient Irish history. This volume is labled part II -- but since it begins 300 years after The Flood we must assume the first part covered Biblical times, and was more properly concerned with ancient mythology rather than Irish History. In this volume, Hanmer covers Irish history from earliest times to the year 1284. Marleburrough takes up the story from 1285 to 1421, at which point this narrative ends.
