Griffith's Valuation for County Mayo

Macintosh operating systems (and probably others as well, but we haven't had
an opportunity to test those yet). You must have a web browser; NetScape 3.0
(or higher), or Internet Explorer 3.0 (or higher) are recommended.
This new CD brings to the researcher one of Ireland's most useful resources for genealogical, local history and social history research for the mid 1800's -- Griffith's Valuation. Similar to a Head of Household Census in that it lists most of the householders in the county, Griffith's is really much more. It also lists all of the property in the county, including buildings, land and other features. It gives the value of these properties, and the name of the occupant, as well as the immediate lessor (the person the occupant leases the property from). Also on this disk is a complete alphabetical index to householders listed in Griffith's for this county, as well as the Mayo portion of Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland. This is a great resource for the County Mayo researcher, with over 1700 pages of Mayo material.
