Description:

This interesting little specimen is a gem sized tintype in a gold colored (brass?) matte, mounted on a carte-de-visite card. The matte measures 27mm high, 20mm wide and sticks up off the card 2mm. It is attached to the card by two slots, through which the matte's horizontal tabs extend. The white card, .4mm thick, is decorated with a tasselled picture frame motif. There is no photographers imprint. Inscribed on back in pencil "John B. Gregory."
