Description:

This is a carte de visite, with a medium sized vignette of a woman. Note the rouge tinted lips and cheeks. The image covers an area 30mm wide and 36mm high. The card is white, .3mm thick, with rounded corners. On back (illustrated) is the pencilled inscription "Loite Gelstow [Gelstan?]", the photographer's imprint, and a 3 cent revenue stamp. The stamp is cancelled with an "X". The photographer's imprint has an artist's palette above, decorative lines around the text, and further information about obtaining copies at the bottom, along with a reference number. The photographer was "Wenderoth, Taylor & Brown, 912-914 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia"
