Description:

This is a Magic Lantern Slide, or Hyalotype, a positive image on glass. 102mm x 81mm, and 2.4mm thick, the glass has (now crumbling) black tape around the edges. A paper lable identifies it as "28 (16760) Old and New City Halls and World Building, New York City." The number 16760 was undoubtedly the publishers number to identify the negative, while 28 was the sequence in this particular set of slides, which has various views of New York.
