  • Skeptical Environmentalist: Measuring the Real State of the Planet by Bjorn Lomborg (Cambridge University Press, 2001). This book examines the state of world, and finds everything to be wonderful. Looking at each of the major environmental disasters in the offing, Lomborg dismisses them as either exaggerated or fabricated. The consistency with which he bashes every environmental cause suggests his own agenda, rather than scientific detachment. This is a good book for environmentalists to read, to better help them marshal the facts that dispute these views, for those inevitable times when we meet our own little Lomborg's.
